What is the Gospel? How are we saved? What do we preach?
Jesus never asked anyone to have a blind faith. Our faith is not a blind faith, it is based on the scriptures, an eye witness account of the history of redemption found in the Old Testament and the preaching, teachings and miracles of Jesus and his disciples found in the New Testament. In order to have salvation you MUST hear the “gospel” or what is also know as the “good news.” However with good news we also need to know the bad news. So what is this news?… (Watch the clip and continue reading below)
This is a clip of Dr. Steven J. Lawson, he is not associated with One Way Christian Center but we chose this clip because it is a thorough, accurate, and concise, impromptu statement of Gospel.
Each and every one of us are sinners. We do not merit salvation but deserve God’s wrath. It is not human nature to desire God apart from God’s divine providence and sovereignty drawing all those who will come to Him. There is hope for all who acknowledge Him and come to Him. Forgiveness, everlasting life, freedom and more are offered to all who believe and trust on Him; there is wrath for all those who do not. Our hope is in the Lord and not in anything in ourselves. Apart from the works of the law, justification is by faith through Christ Jesus. Therefore, since it is Christ who saves us then it is Christ who will keep us saved through all eternity. Nothing can remove us from his hand.
Rom 3:23 ESV for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Rom 1:16 ESV For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Rom 4:3 ESV For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.”
Mar 16:15-16 ESV And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. (16) Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
1Pe 3:15 ESV but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,
