Summary

Devotion: How Important is Discernment? Acts 20:28-31

Are we relying on the Word of God or feelings?  Is it too much to call for constant discernment and guarding the truth?  If Paul spent 3 years not ceasing night or day to admonish every one with tears over this topic, then this is a very important topic.  Jesus, Peter, Paul and John warned us, are we listening to the warning?

Devotion Notes:

    • 3 to 4 weeks on false prophets and teachers 2nd Peter Chapter 2
        • Am I becoming paranoid
            • The more I study the more concerned I get
        • Am I blowing things out of proportion
            • There are a lot of nice people
                • Seem to have good intentions
                • Not too concerned with what is being preached
                • Not many speak out against false teachings
                    • But he/she is a nice person
                    • They have good intentions
    • Then I read these verses

Acts 20:28-31 ESV

    • Notice the gravity and importance
    • Jesus, Peter, Paul, John… All gave SEVERE warnings

    • Paul is telling the pastors, elders, and deacons to be on guard.

    • How many pastors do you know who are THIS concerned with false teachings creeping in?

    • Are they crazy?
