How do we understand, THIS WORLD

• How do you live in the world, love the lost, proclaim the gospel and not conform to THIS WORLD?

 

1 Corinthians 9:19

Jesus ministered to common people, sinners, tax collectors and prostitutes

Apostles took the gospel to the people

Paul preached to the Pagan religions

• Maintained the truth of the Gospel
• Compassionate and loving!
• What about this…

 

1 Corinthians 5:11

Did Jesus and the Apostles change the world or did the world change them?

Lies and false doctrine

NOT ALWAYS – Majority Rules – World is the majority

World should have NO influence on doctrine

Today? Doctrine Doesn’t Matter?

  3. Scripture!!

• It is better that I should die a thousand times than that I should retract one syllable of the condemned articles. And as they excommunicated me for the sacrilege of heresy, so I excommunicate them in the name of the sacred truth of God. Christ will judge whose excommunication will stand.

GOAL – know the will of God!

  • Bible Roulette! No different than TARA CARDS
    • Joke – Quit smoking
      • 1Co 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit
      • Rev 15:8 and the temple was filled with smoke

 

Life is FULL OF DECISIONS

Small Decisions

• Hello to Alicia ~ Lord should I say hello
• Conversation with Alicia ~ Should I use this word or that word…
• Dinner with Alicia

Big Decisions

• Injured!
• Should I date Alicia
• Should I marry Alicia

I searched the Bible for, “Should I marry Alicia?”  No result Found

How do we make daily ROUTINE decisions?

 

1. God is sovereign
2. RENEWING THE MIND ~ Christ centered thinking!!!

 

Empty your mind and focus on Jesus – Pagan!

Empty your mind, it is hindering the Spirit – Pagan!

 

• NOT just learning data
• Thinking like Christ
• Mind and Heart are LINKED
• Are your passions for the Lord? Or things of the world
  • In the World
  • We come out of World
  • Educated by the World
  • Miserable Christian
