Summary
Sermon: The Sheep, Lion and Shepherd 1 Peter 5:7-14
Today we will be discussing the Devil who goes around like a roaring lion seeing whom he may devour. Sheep are no match for a lion but sheep who have a mighty shepherd who protects the flock and restores them after an attack can stand firm in God’s truth. God doesn’t try to save his sheep, he saves them. Not one of them is eternally lost or totally destroyed. It may look like it. For example, the Devil may have appeared to win when Christ was in the tomb but the rest of the story shows his defeat. This will end our 1st Peter Series.

-
- This doesn’t say “may” restore.
- Can His called be lost forever?
- If God loses just one, then he is not all powerful and there is no truth to this statement.
-
- He loses nothing
- He restores all of His sheep
-
- Literal Babylon or Rome?
- Most interesting, another reference to being elect
- Pastor – Peter says Paul is hard to understand, because of Romans 9,
- Peter has a lot to say about election.
