    • Your conduct is a witness for Christ
        • That’s a Godly woman!
        • I want the peace she has.
        • I want the stability she has.
            • Train up our young women
            • DO Not train in rebellion – this comes natural
                • Train in submission
    • She is far more precious than jewels.

Luke 16:15 ESV
Romans 2:28-29 ESV
2 Corinthians 4:16 ESV
Ephesians 3:16 ESV
A gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.
    • Peter is saying:
        • When you submit yourself, you are pleasing to God.
        • Are we more concerned with what other might say?
            • Women are vicious
                • Submitting is not popular
                • So, what!
                • We are to please God.
    • Notice the word holy!!!

            • What makes something valuable?
                • It’s not like anything else.
        • Rejected by the world but precious in God’s sight!
        • How? by submitting to your own husbands
5. An example
    • NOTICE, “And you are her children
        • God’s people
        • Abraham’s and Sarah’s children
        • NOT the children of the slave woman
Genesis 18:12 ESV  So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I am worn out, and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure?”
    • Sarah was admonished for laughing but praised for calling Abraham lord.
    • That’s easy
    • Try this…  I remember in chuch…
        • Turn to someone and say God is great!
        • My husband is my lord?
        • Sarah wouldn’t have a problem with this.
Ephesians 5:21-25 ESV
6. Husbands show honor to the woman
    • We are called to love our wives as Christ loved the church
    • If my wife would submit, I would love her?  Really???
    • How have you earned Christ’s love?
    • What have you done to deserve it?
    • Yet, he died for you!
    • And you require your wife to earn your love?
    • The weaker vessel is supposed to earn, the stronger vessels love?
    • Probably the most difficult command in the whole bible…
        • in an understanding way
that your prayers may not be hindered.
